Sep 11 Press Release
The current market shows 10% increase in average price for the greater Hamilton and Burlington areas. More significant, the number of days on market has dropped by 11 days. While some areas are stronger than others, the overall results indciate a vibrant market. On my radio show, Real Estate Made SImple today, a listener was commenting on how the market is said to be slow; while the feelings may be understandable, the facts tell a different and we think, the real story. So stay positive, the market is stable, growing and whether a buyer or seller, there are many opportunitties to take advantage of your situation.

Voters say the poor quality of candidates and lack of candidate inforamtion are the primary reasons why they do not vote. And we can all recall others indicating their vote does not count, so why bother! Only 37.25 of Hamilton city voters cast ballots in 2006 and the interesting fact is had a mere 14% more shown up and voted for the third candidate (by vote count in 2006), that person would have been the mayor these past four years. Your vote does count - make it really count by getting to the polls this October 25th.

Had lunch today with a few commercial real estate professionals. Seems they agree the commercial real estate market is better in the leasing area than in land or building sales. Everyone has an opinion of whether staging works or not. Staging being the way a home is displayed, usually the interior. Day to day living brings with it a measure of untidiness, imperfectly made beds, toothpaste on the counter, etc. Staging is the art of having everything in its place and a place for everything!! It can be done professionally - and in my view a professional stager is going to ensure that when a prospective buyer is in your home, they look at features which tug at their hearstrings - and encourage them to make your home, their home. Selling a home is an art form, and the art of staging the home is one of the key ingredients to a stress free period for marketing your property.
